Let’s Get Your Basement Dry

Dwyer waterproofs your basement so it stays dry through every storm. Start with our free inspection. You’ll get a clear estimate with zero obligation or pressure. We know what it takes to keep basements dry across Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington, Louisville, Northern Kentucky, and Southern Indiana, and have for three decades.

Signs your basement is trying to tell you something

Most homeowners notice one of these before they know what’s causing it. If any of these sound familiar, water is likely getting in somewhere:

The only way to know the cause is to take a look. A free inspection will tell you what’s going on and what it would take to fix.

Three ways Dwyer keeps water out of your home

Every home is different, so we match the fix to your situation. Sometimes that’s one method, sometimes it’s multiple. We explain which one you need and why before any work starts.

Interior drainage

If water does find its way in, an interior drainage channel catches it at the base of the wall and routes it to a sump pump that carries it back outside. Your floor stays dry and the water never gets a chance to pool. This is often the most affordable starting point, and it works well for older homes in our region.

Exterior waterproofing

This stops water before it ever reaches the inside. We seal the outside of your foundation wall so it sheds water like a raincoat. It is the stronger first line of defense, and we will tell you plainly whether your home needs it or whether interior drainage is enough.

Sump pumps & battery backup

A sump pump collects the water your drainage system gathers and pushes it back outside, away from the house. We install dependable pumps with a battery backup, so the system keeps working during the power outages that tend to come with the same big storms that flood basements.

What basement waterproofing costs

Honest answer: it depends on what we find, and the only way to give you a real number is to look. Cost mostly comes down to how much wall length needs protection and how your local soil drains. A small crack repair sits at the low end. A full perimeter system for a chronically wet basement sits higher.

Two things make this easier to plan for:

  • The inspection and written quote are free, so you know your number before you commit to anything.
  • We offer financing if you would rather spread the cost out. See financing options here.

Basement waterproofing FAQs

How do I know if my basement needs waterproofing?
Common signs are a musty smell, damp or stained walls, a chalky white residue on the concrete, water pooling after storms, or a crack that leaks when it rains. If you are seeing any of these, our free inspection will tell you whether you need a small repair or a fuller fix.
Cost depends mainly on how much of the wall needs protection and how your soil drains. A single crack repair is at the low end, and a full perimeter drainage system for a wet basement is higher. The Dwyer Company gives a free written estimate so you know your number before you decide, and financing is available.
Most basement waterproofing jobs take one to a few days, depending on the size of the basement and the method. We have finished smaller jobs in as little as two days. Your inspector will give you a clear timeline with the quote.
Once the water source is sealed and the basement dries out, the musty smell and the damp conditions that let mold grow are removed. Waterproofing addresses the moisture that causes those problems in the first place. For existing heavy mold, we will tell you if remediation is needed before we begin.
It depends on your home. Interior drainage manages water that gets in and is often the more affordable starting point. Exterior waterproofing stops water before it reaches the wall and is the stronger barrier. Many homes do well with one. Some need both. We recommend the right one after we inspect.
A dry, warranty-backed basement protects your home’s value and removes a problem that scares off buyers and shows up on inspection reports. It also makes a finished basement, like a home gym or playroom, a safe investment instead of a risk.
Done correctly with quality materials, waterproofing protects your basement for many years, often 10 to 25. Modern membrane systems and sealants last longer than older methods. Routine checks help it keep doing its job.
DIY coatings sit on the surface and often trap moisture inside the wall, which can make things worse. A proper system moves water and the pressure behind it away from the foundation, which is what stops the leaking for good.
