How The Dwyer Company Waterproofed a Leaking Basement in 5 days
- Project Type: Residential
- Project Services: Waterproofing
The Problem
A homeowner in Amelia, Ohio had water coming through cracks in their basement walls, standing water from poor drainage, high humidity, and a south wall that was starting to bow inward — pushed by water pressure building up outside the foundation. Making things more complicated: the basement was fully finished, which meant the existing walls and flooring had to come out before any repair work could even begin.
Our Solution
The Dwyer Company waterproofed the basement from the inside out using the Dwyer Double Drain System — stopping the leaks, managing the water, stabilizing the wall, and controlling moisture for good.
Here’s what we did:
- Injected 3 cracked foundation walls with polyurethane to stop active water intrusion
- Installed 54 linear feet of interior drain along the basement perimeter
- Installed a 3/4 HP dual sump pump with battery backup — so it keeps running even if the power goes out
- Ran a 30-foot discharge pipe to daylight to move water completely away from the house
- Stabilized the bowing south wall using carbon fiber reinforcement and 4″ W-Beams
- Installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier to keep the air dry year-round
Project completed in 5 days.
The Results
- No more water coming through the walls
- Drainage problems solved
- Bowing wall stabilized before it got worse
- Basement humidity under control
- Peace of mind — even during heavy rain or a power outage
