Crack Repair + Tiebacks – Florence, Kentucky
- Project Type: Residential
- Project Services: Crack Repair, Foundation Repair, Helical Tiebacks/Anchors, Waterproofing
Our Solution
The Dwyer Company stabilized the bowing basement wall by installing five tie-back anchors. Additionally, thirty feet of cracks required epoxy or polyurethane injection to stop leaks into the basement. This meticulous process was executed as follows:
-
Site Preparation & Excavation:
We removed landscaping and excavated along the exterior foundation wall to access the problem area and prepare for anchor installation. -
Tie-Back Anchor Installation:
We installed 5 heavy-duty tie-back anchors (15 feet long with 10-kip resistance capacity) drilled through the basement wall and deep into stable soil to pull the wall back into position. -
Wall Reinforcement:
Steel plates and walers were installed on both the inside and outside of the basement wall to distribute the anchor force and permanently stabilize the bowing wall. -
Waterproofing & Restoration:
We injected 30 feet of cracks with epoxy and polyurethane to permanently seal all water entry points, then restored the landscaping.
Project completed in 5 days.
The Results
- Successfully stabilized the walls
- Cracks permanently sealed
Why This Matters
Left unrepaired, a bowing wall can collapse entirely, requiring complete basement reconstruction costing tens of thousands of dollars. Water infiltration damages your home daily, creates health hazards from mold, and is an immediate red flag that stops any home sale in its tracks. Our solution addressed all issues and delivered optimal results in a fraction of the time and cost if left untreated.
